Anyone tried toilet training their cats with the 'Cat Throne'?

I’ve been trying to toilet train my two cats, Hiro (9) and Wisp (8), using a product called the ‘Cat Throne.’ It’s supposed to make the process less stressful, but Wisp pees in the bathtub and Hiro is more interested in treats for just being near the toilet than using it properly. I even tried putting the training tray in their litter box with flushable litter, but no real progress after 2-3 months. Anyone had success with this kind of thing? Could adding a grass insert help them feel more natural about it?

I tried something similar with my cats! Took me forever though. Are you using any regular litter boxes still?

No, I removed the regular litter boxes, but I did try transitioning them with the training tray in their box first.

Oh, that could be why they’re avoiding the toilet! Cats usually like having multiple options.

Does Hiro always meow when you clean the tray? Sounds like he’s stressed out by the process.

Yeah, he meows like crazy and swipes at the water but only when I’m cleaning the tray. No idea why though.

Probably because he doesn’t like the smell of the cleaning or the water sound. Have you tried cleaning it out of their sight?

Grass inserts might help if they miss digging. Some cats are really attached to that part of the routine.

That’s what I was thinking! Do you know if it works for all cats or just some?

It helped my cat transition, but it took a while. Be patient—it’s definitely not an overnight fix.

Wisp sounds like she’s super anxious. Maybe adding a calming diffuser like Feliway could help?

She’s definitely a nervous cat. I’ll look into Feliway—thanks for the tip!

What’s Feliway? I’ve seen it mentioned but not sure what it does.

It’s a diffuser that mimics calming cat pheromones. Helps reduce stress—works great for my skittish cat!

Have you tried adding more litter boxes? I heard you need one per cat plus one extra, even with toilet training.

I haven’t added extra boxes yet, but I think I’ll try that next. Makes sense for them to have more options.

Yep, that’s a game-changer for multi-cat households. It can solve a lot of potty issues.
