Can dogs have plantain chips

My dog is crazy about bananas he can hear you peel one from across the house and comes running to sit at your feet.

I recently dropped some banana chips while feeling a bit sick, and he gobbled them up instantly. I didn’t realize he liked them so much! Now I keep banana chips in the treat pouch as a go-to reward. They are much cheaper than many dog treats and really healthy, especially since Tyson has food sensitivities.

Am surprised to learn that Tyson loves bananas and banana chips. As for plantain chips, they can be a bit tricky. While plantains themselves can be a healthy treat for dogs when cooked plainly and given in moderation, plantain chips are usually fried and often contain high amounts of salt and other seasonings that can be harmful to dogs.

If you want to give Tyson a similar treat, you can consider making your plantain chips at home by baking thinly sliced plantains without any added salt or seasonings. This way, you can control the ingredients and ensure they are safe for him.

No, dogs should not have plantain chips. Fried foods, including plantain chips, can upset a dog’s stomach and lead to vomiting or diarrhea. The oil and seasonings used can cause digestive issues and dehydration, so it’s best to avoid giving them to your pet.

It is not advisable for dog owners to give their pets plantain chips or other fried foods. Fried food’s oil and seasonings can give dogs upset stomachs or more serious digestive problems, like diarrhea or vomiting, which can both result in dehydration.
