Cataracts and dogs eyes

Has anyone used castor oil for their dog’s cataracts? If yes, which brand did you use?

There is no scientific proof that castor oil helps humans or canines with cataracts.

I recommend that you never put anything in your dog’s eyes without first having the dog evaluated by a veterinarian and discussing the situation with him.

I think this is another Tiktok trend. Remember that Tiktok influencers are compensated based on clicks rather than successful outcomes. Castor oil has been around much longer than social media. It’s inexpensive and easy to obtain. If straight castor oil genuinely worked to treat eye issues, you can bet that someone in every family would use it. Since this is not the case, I believe it is safe to presume that individuals did not find it useful.

As far as I know, there is no cure or medical treatment to reverse cataracts in human or canine eyes. The only permanent solution is surgery to replace the blocked lens with a clear prosthetic one. I believe there are veterinarian ophthalmic surgeons who will perform that surgery on dogs, but I am not sure of the success rate.

Castor oil is effective in treating a wide range of ailments in both people and animals. It is not a trend. Google searches will steer people away from homeopathic medicines because they want big pharma to be the solution with its manufactured drugs, which have side effects that require more drugs to resolve the difficulties. The hamster wheel makes people sick and dependent on them.

Maybe so, but there is no proof that curing cataracts is one of them.
