Hi everyone! Though it is not exactly a training question, I am not sure where to inquire. I am really sick and do not have much energy for games, walks, or other activities. She really is the greatest dog in the world, so I make sure to show her how much I adore her by giving her as many cuddles, toys, chew bones, and attention as possible! Would be grateful if someone could explain this to her.
This post is so heartwarming. She understands! I could sense it as I read through this post. Just as she can feel your love for her, I believe she can also feel that you’re not well, and she probably wants to let you know that she loves you too.
Are you interested in clicker training? It can be very low-effort. Just relax with a clicker and small treats nearby, and toss a treat to the dog when she does something you like. The goal is for her to repeat the behavior so you can eventually ask her to do it on cue. I like doing the “100 things to do with a box” game, where my dog chooses what behavior he likes best. My problem is figuring out what to call that behavior!
This is my hypothesis. My dog, who was adopted, exhibits the same behavior. I believe he was just trying to eat without having to battle for food because he came from a home with sixteen other dogs.
Your dog probably knows that! You may not be aware of it, but I believe you are already displaying it. The finest method to express your utter affection for her is to pet, caress, and cuddle with her! I believe that the best way to show a dog you care is to simply have her around you; they don’t care if you get them a $2 chew toy or a $100 plush feather bed. Finally, keep in mind that animals are able to smell and sense our emotions. I can tell you that your partner is aware of this, loves you, and appreciates you for it! It is a blessing that you two have each other!
Certainly! It sounds like you’ve stumbled upon a relaxed and effective training approach. Let’s coin a name for it. How about “Chill-Clicker Training”? It captures the laid-back vibe while emphasizing the clicker’s role in shaping desired behaviors. What do you think?
Showing love to your dog strengthens your bond and boosts their well-being. Ways to express affection include gentle petting, praising in a soothing tone, playing interactive games, spending quality time together, regular grooming, offering healthy treats, respecting their need for space, and maintaining consistent routines for security and comfort.
Dogs have a great capacity for empathy and can read facial expressions, so when you smile and show them your affection, they will sense it.
Dogs enjoy working together because it gives them purpose and makes them feel safe and linked. Consider the tasks that your dog could assist you with, such as pulling your socks off or obtaining a blanket. In this manner, she will be showered with praise for her assistance in making your life easier.
