These are all basic training questions:

  1. Start with leash training. Teach the puppy to stay at your side and match your pace.
  2. Train your dog to ignore distractions like other dogs. If a street dog comes near, turn around or cross the street.
  3. Use chew toys to keep the puppy away from furniture. Supervise it closely until it’s trained.

If you’re new to dogs, consider hiring a trainer or watching online videos. Puppies are a lot of work, so be prepared to spend time every day on training and exercise.
