Is a tight jacket hazardous for the lipomas?

My Rotty gets cold at night, so I generally put her in a jacket. I’ve begun crocheting a new one for her, however she has a lipoma on her shoulder. It’s little (around an inch), but I know it will get larger. I’m concerned that the jacket will put pressure on it, and I’m wondering if that’s a problem. Do you know if pressure might aggravate a lipoma? Thank you in advance.

Sorry for not being able to answer, however as you are constructing it yourself, can you knit in a hole to fit the lipoma?

Why didn’t I think of that?! Thanks, William

I was thinking about building or purchasing a chest binder to help my dog hold a huge chest lipoma while also preventing it from rubbing on the inner of his legs… any suggestions?

It’s great that you’re taking such good care of your Rotty! Regarding your concern, lipomas are generally benign and not painful. However, they can become uncomfortable if they grow large or are subjected to constant pressure.

Putting pressure on a lipoma, such as from a tight jacket, might cause discomfort or irritation over time. It’s a good idea to ensure that the jacket is loose enough around the shoulder area to avoid putting pressure on the lipoma. If you notice any changes in the lipoma or if it seems to be causing pain, it would be best to consult your vet for further advice.

Happy crocheting and I hope your Rotty stays warm and comfortable! :paw_prints:
