Is it stupid to do agility classes if I don’t think my dog would be the best at it?

I have a 1-year-old coonhound mix who is a stubborn hound but also hyper (though he’s calming down) and athletic. I’m interested in agility training for him to boost his confidence and strengthen our bond. My husband thinks it’s a waste of money and prefers we focus solely on obedience training. However, I believe that if he responds well to commands during agility, it could improve his behavior overall, especially since he struggles with listening when excited. The place also offers nose work classes, which would be great given his hound instincts.

Even if your dog is not very adept at it, agility training is a very demanding physical and mental workout. I would do it if he is willing.

That is what I was considering! It is good that they have a puppy introduction where they train them to do various tasks to help them become accustomed to it and other things. That lasts for a maximum of fifteen months. which is ideal since he will undoubtedly be fully recovered at age 15 and neutered at age 14. He certainly knows how to pull a prank, so I believe anything would work for him. I hooked him on the idea of jumping through a hoops.

My 1.5-year-old attends once every week. He is exhausted by the end of the day when we get home at 1 PM.
