He’s a Shih Tzu-57 mix, 4 years old, and I’ve had him since he was 8 weeks old. He’s incredibly attached to me, always sticking close like Velcro. While I don’t mind his constant gaze, I can literally feel his eyes on me all the time. I just want to ensure this behavior is okay, or if I should try to curb his obsessive staring.

It’s quite common for Shih Tzus to stare at their owners, and it’s generally considered a normal part of their behavior. This breed is known for being affectionate and forming strong emotional bonds with their human companions
The staring could be because of:
- Emotional Connection: Your dog may be trying to understand and respond to your emotions, or it could be a sign of love and trust.
- Communication: Staring can be a way for your dog to communicate their needs, like wanting food, play, or attention
