Tricks for crate training (especially soundproofing) in an apartment building?

Unfortunately, we received a noise complaint when we were attempting to crate train our dog. We’ve tried to help by covering the crate with blankets and installing a few soundproofing panels, but I was wondering if there were any inventive ways that people had managed to stop their dogs from barking and crying? Because he is a large dog, his bark is loud.

Consider leaving her with a lingering treat that she can only have after you have left. It might work with a frozen stuffed monarch

Thank you, I will give it a shot :slightly_smiling_face:

Avoid putting your puppy in the crate right before you leave. I crated each of my puppies multiple times a day for varying durations. played and fed in the container as usual. After encouraging her to enter, I would treat her, close the door, reopen it, and continue the process. When she was younger, I would lay her down to sleep on a blanket in my arms, then very carefully put her in her crate. I would stay by her side till she woke up so she could become accustomed to being in and out of it.

Try the frozen kongs, cheese chews, beef backstrap, and teething sticks. She can’t chew and then bark. Teach her to like chewing if she doesn’t already (look it up on YouTube).

Have you tried going outside for thirty seconds, returning inside, offering a treat, and then doing it again? After that, increase the intervals.
