Hi guys…
I recently adopted a rescue dog and someone mentioned the “3-3-3 rule” to help me understand what my new furry friend might be going through. I’m not exactly sure what this rule entails.
Can someone explain what the 3-3-3 rule is for dogs?

I read about it sometime back while doing my dog training course.
The 3-3-3 rule usually applies to people who have rescued dogs.
The rule Is all about letting your dog relax, get a feel of its new environment, and get to know you very well

The general adjustment phases that a dog could go through over the first three days, three weeks, and three months in a new home are referred to as the 3-3-3 Rule for dogs, especially when adopting a rescue dog.
The 3-3-3 rule for newly adopted dogs describes their adjustment period:
- First 3 Days: The dog may feel overwhelmed, scared, and unsure of their new home. They might not eat, drink, or sleep well.
- First 3 Weeks: The dog starts to settle in, get comfortable, and understand the routine. They begin to show their true personality and test boundaries.
- First 3 Months: The dog feels fully adjusted, secure, and confident in their new home, forming a strong bond with their family.
