Why does my dog pee so much outside... anyone else deal with this?

My dog is potty trained, but when we go outside, he has to pee on EVERYTHING and it lasts forever. Anyone else’s dog like this? IDK why it’s happening… should I be worried about this behavior?

Same here, my dog pees on everything too. It’s super annoying lol. I’ve never really worried about it though. Maybe just too excited?

Yeah, I think that’s a thing with some dogs. Mine does the same but I never thought it was a big deal either.

I’ve heard it could be because of their past experiences or even their food. Like if they were without water before or eating high-sodium food.

Ohh, that makes sense. I’ve been giving mine dry food, but now I’m wondering if I should switch it up.

Yeah, I’ve also read that switching to half wet food could help. Maybe try that?

Has your dog been scratching his ears a lot? Could be an ear infection, especially if they’re scratching a lot or if there’s a smell.

That could be it! My dog scratches a lot too. Maybe I should check for an infection?

It’s possible. You could use a vinegar solution to clean his ears until you can get to the vet. Apple cider vinegar works well for yeast infections.

Oh, I see. I’m not sure if this is the cause, but I was told you should avoid letting them drink too much water before bed. Maybe that could help?

Interesting. I hadn’t thought of that. I’ll try cutting back on the water intake before bed and see if it helps.

Just make sure you’re feeding him good quality food, low in sodium. And yeah, don’t leave water in the crate. It can make a mess lol.

Good tip! I’m definitely going to check the sodium levels in his food. Don’t need a soggy crate either.
