Laser Pointers and My Dog: Is It Really That Bad?

Hey everyone, I’ve been using a laser pointer to play with my dog, Max, and he goes absolutely crazy for it. It’s like he’s possessed by a hunting instinct or something. The problem is, I’ve heard that laser pointers can actually be bad for dogs. I remember seeing a video where a dog got really stressed out because they couldn’t catch the dot. Has anyone else used laser pointers with their dogs? Is it okay as long as I don’t overdo it? Or should I just give up the red dot fun altogether?

Hi breeders,
No, it’s generally not advisable to use a laser pointer with your dog. Although it might seem like harmless fun to see your dog chase a little red dot, laser pointers can actually cause several issues for your furry friend.

I have used a laser pointer with my dog, Bella, and she really loves it. It gives her plenty of exercise and she enjoys the chase. However, I use it sparingly to avoid her getting too frustrated.

Laser pointers can frustrate dogs, as they can’t catch the light, leading to stress or obsessive behaviors. It’s better to use interactive toys that allow them to physically engage and play.
