Hey everyone, I need some advice. I’ve got this adorable 8-week-old kitten and a 9-week-old puppy. They’re both super sweet and have all the toys they need, but I’m having a major issue. My puppy is literally dragging my kitten around like a rag doll and it’s stressing me out. I’ve separated them and tried distracting my puppy with other toys, but he just goes back to my kitten. I get that it’s part of his play drive, but I’m worried about my kitten. Has anyone else dealt with this? I really need some practical tips here, please.
That sounds rough. I had the same issue with my puppy and kitten. I found that giving them structured playtime helped. Maybe try supervised play sessions?
I feel you. My puppy was super rough with my kitten too. I ended up using a spray bottle to interrupt the biting. Just a little mist to distract him.
I had a similar situation. I found that tiring them out with exercise really helped. A long walk or a good play session can make a difference.
You’re doing great. Just keep an eye on them. It takes time for them to learn how to play nicely. Just be patient.
Have you tried using toys to redirect his energy? Sometimes it helps to get their attention on something else.
Honestly, it’s all about consistency. If you keep redirecting him every time he gets too rough, he’ll learn eventually.
I agree with all the tips here. Just be patient and keep an eye on them. They’ll find their groove.
Good luck. It sounds like you’re doing all the right things. Just keep monitoring and redirecting.
One last thing; make sure your kitten has a safe space to escape to if she needs it. That can help a lot.
