Need Help Finding an Automatic Ball Launcher

I need help finding an indoor automatic ball launcher for my 6-year-old, 70-pound dog. He’s a rescue, so his breed is a bit of a mystery, but we were told he’s a hound/Staffordshire Terrier mix if that helps.

I’m recovering from a difficult bone marrow transplant and just don’t have the energy to play with him as much as I’d like. I’ve moved back in with my elderly parents, who also can’t play with him.

Can anyone recommend a great indoor automatic ball launcher? I’m looking for durable balls, preferably rubber, as he tends to destroy everything (KONGs don’t hold up at all). If rubber isn’t an option, I can at least clean up the fur from tennis balls.

Additionally, any advice on training a dog who prefers playing chase over fetch (he only drops the ball about 80% of the time at the dog park) and how to use the launcher would be extremely appreciated.

Thank you, dog trainer, and happy week!

It is not the finest idea to have auto ball launchers. They promote conduct akin to that of neurotics. It would be better if you offered intellectual stimulation. Provided that your dog enjoys playing with a ball, teach him how to find it by hiding it around the home. Your dog will actually become considerably more tired from exercise that promotes cerebral activity.

That seems interesting, I might have to try it again later. I felt bad about doing that after doing it a few times because he really uses his ball as a pacifier and gets really upset when it is not with him. It crushed my heart to do that, too.
