What are some cool fun tricks I can teach my dog?

My family loves playing cards and magic tricks, so I trained my dog how to fist bump, high five, play rock, paper, scissors, choose a card or a hand, and other tricks. Oh, and he also understands simple orders like “Go fetch,” “Come,” “Give,” “Sit,” “Gunfingers,” and so forth.

These are quite basic commands, and since I would do them with other people, I like performing them with him. It also makes people laugh, and spreading happiness is always a good thing! Are there any more cool, easy tricks you would recommend doing with my little buddy?

My dog loves doing tricks too—he’s a pro at rolling over and playing dead. You might try teaching your pup to “spin” or “dance” on his hind legs. It’s a fun way to mix things up and it always gets a good laugh. Plus, he might enjoy the new challenge

Here are some more fun and impressive tricks you can teach your dog to add to your repertoire:

  • Spin: Teach your dog to spin in a circle on command. Use a treat to guide them in a circle and say “spin” as they follow the treat.
  • Play dead: Have your dog lie down and then roll onto their side when you say “bang” and point your finger like a gun.
  • Roll over: Start with your dog in a lying down position, then use a treat to guide them to roll over completely.
  • Peek-a-Boo: Teach your dog to cover their eyes with their paws. You can do this by gently placing a sticky note on their nose and rewarding them when they try to remove it with their paw.
  • Back up: Train your dog to walk backward on command. Use a treat to lure them backward and say “back up.”
  • Take a bow: Have your dog lower their front half while keeping their rear end up, like they’re taking a bow. Use a treat to guide them into this position and say “Take a bow.”
  • Dance: Encourage your dog to stand on their hind legs and “dance” by holding a treat above their head and moving it in a small circle.

Crawl: Start with your dog lying down. Hold a treat near their nose and slowly move it forward, low to the ground. Your dog should begin crawling to reach the treat.

Do scoot/crawl! It’s one of the easiest ones I have done with both our dogs, and always makes guests go.

-Put the dog is down

-Hold the treat by the front of their nose as a lure

-Move thetreat away while holding it near the ground

The dog should start doing an army crawl to get the treat. Should only take a few attempts!

Luffy is a master scooter. It’s so dang cute.
