What is your experience with CBD oil for dogs, and what brand do you use?

Hi everyone,

I’m considering CBD oil for my senior dog and was wondering if it can help with cataracts or glaucoma, and whether it might prevent illness or disease. I know CBD oil for dogs is still relatively new, but has anyone used it for their dog with good results? Or has anyone experienced negative effects?

I’d also love to know what brands and dosages you use, and what breed of dog you have. I want to make the best decision for my senior dog to prolong his life. I really hope that God will let my dog be with me for many more years.

Thanks for any replies!

I will surely do that :slightly_smiling_face:

We’ve been using CBD oil for our dog, who was barely walking before. Nothing the vet prescribed seemed to help much. After a little over two months, we’ve seen a huge difference. She seems pain-free, runs, walks much faster, jumps on and off furniture effortlessly, and generally seems happier.

I consulted with our vet, who was understandably cautious but assured me it wouldn’t do any harm. If you decide to try CBD oil, be careful where you buy it. There are many ‘snake oil’ scam artists out there. Make sure you have access to the lab analysis, and I suggest buying from a reputable vendor with an established business location. It also helps if you know someone who has bought from a specific vendor and can share their experience.

I use this, and I can truly tell the difference. This helps my dog. CBD Pet: CBD Oil for Pets

The consensus appears to be that there is no need to purchase a pet-specific product.

In fact, purchasing human-grade CBD from a legal dispensary increases our chances of receiving a pure product.

Extracted from CBD for Pets Vs. Humans: What’s the Difference?

“Basically, CBD oil for pets is the same as CBD oil for humans. Serving recommendations vary, although there are usually no changes in how the oils are made.”

I’ve made it 5-6 times for a sick friend. Easy peezy. Check out YouTube. that’s been four or more years since I needed to do that, though.

Every month, I create THC oil and raise my own plants. Unfortunately, there is no practical way to test CBD for dogs to ensure that it contains less than 0.3% THC and is safe. CBD benefited one of my older dogs, but it did nothing for me.

I’m now planting a couple claimed CBD plants, so time will tell if they perform better for me. I’ve been studying and producing cannabis for as long as I can remember. I save a lot of money and receive a far better product than what is available commercially.

I’ve been recommending CBD for more than a decade. Everything I read and heard convinced me to believe. However, when I tried it on my kid, I saw no difference in his skin, coat, or energy level. He suffered with pancreatitis on several occasions over the course of a few years. It didn’t help either (not that I expected it to for this particular problem). I still suggest it. I believe that any dog that is not 100% should give it a try. It couldn’t hurt.

Then I’m confident you’re superior than mine. It would be ideal if there was a home kit to test potency. Business concept!

There are, but they are expensive and not that accurate.

It is easy to grow your own. I reside in Nevada, which is completely legal, and you can acquire a great starter kit for around $1000 or less. The ROI, assuming $300 per ounce, is less than one year. Lights and genetics are the most crucial parts of growing your own. If I had to buy it, I would have to come out of retirement for pain relief and sleep.

I’m considering utilizing CBD oil to relieve pain in my 13-year-old lab who has arthritis. After doing some investigation, I realized the importance of hemp oil purity. Has anyone have any experience with cannabis products?

I asked my veterinarian, and he advised the brand Ellevet. It is for pets and quite expensive. I am not experiencing much difference in mobility compared to simply glucosamine. I don’t think I’ll buy anymore. I received a chewable with a peanut butter flavor. If there is a next time, I will look into human-friendly brands. I am in California.
