Dogs consume grass for five basic reasons. Some dogs will eat grass only because they enjoy the flavor or because it gives them something to do when they’re bored. Dogs may also consume grass when they are experiencing digestive distress, require additional fiber in their diet, or suffer from dietary deficiencies.

Dogs might eat grass to fulfill a deficiency in their diet, particularly if they’re lacking certain nutrients, vitamins, or minerals.
